I was told I had overdraft protection and I find out today after my account has been charged $36.00 for an $.08 negative balance that I don't have it have been calling the branch I opened my account at 15 years ago I don't have it and they won't remove the $36.00 and if I don't deposit that money on Friday I'll be charged another $36.00 for a negative balance so I guess I'm done with Suntrust after 15 years they duck.

Review about: Suntrust Account.

Reason of review: Not as described.

As I recall, the feds changed the rules re: overdraft protection a year or two ago.If you have had this since you opened the account, when the rules changed you should have been advised by the bank that you had to choose whether or not you wanted it.

I was given the option on my bank's website when I logged in to check my account. I, of course declined.

You probably didn't choose this option so you were automatically not enrolled in it due to the new rules.Easy to overlook these things given the junk the bank puts on monthly statements, etc.
